Point in Time Count – Identifying Individuals Experiencing Homelessness in Lebanon County
Volunteers will work in small groups of 5-8 individuals throughout Lebanon County. If/when they encounter a homeless individual, they will attempt to gather data.
- 7:30-8:30pm - meet at Salem Lutheran for MANDATORY training and to get their assigned groups and locations
- 9-11:00pm - Walk designated area of County
- Return to Salem Lutheran - ALL volunteers must physically report back to Salem Lutheran once finished to return supplies and do a safety check-in
Volunteers will need to:
- Bring a flashlight, charged cell phone, and reflective vest.
- Participate in a one hour mandatory training at Salem Lutheran prior to going to their assigned locations throughout the county.
- Have the ability to walk on uneven surfaces for a period of time.
- No children under 12 – all children participating must remain with their parent.
- Dress warmly for the weather.
- We are requesting individuals download a mobile app to their cell phones to capture interview information if they identify a homeless individual. More information will be provided about this during the pre-shift training.
