Meals on Wheels has operated with a singular mission since the first recorded delivery in the U.S. by a small group of citizens in Philadelphia back in 1954 – to assist our elderly neighbors in maintaining their independence and health as they grow older. What began as a heartfelt initiative has evolved into one of the most significant and impactful social movements in America, currently serving nearly 2.2 million seniors each year across nearly every community nationwide.
