Volunteers provide companionship and emotional support to terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers talk with patients, hold their hand, pray, play a game, read a book, play music, or just provide a friendly presence. Some volunteers enjoy writing supportive notes. Volunteers can also give the family a needed break to run errands or take a walk. Our patients are located in both nursing facilities and private homes in the Lebanon area.
A few hours a month can make a big difference. Assignments, hours, and locations are flexible and can work around your schedule.
All volunteers must complete an application form, be interviewed, provide two references, submit to a criminal background check, a drug test, TB screening, and approximately 12 hours of volunteer training.
